In a stern decision aimed at deterring litigants from misleading the courts, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has imposed a hefty cost of Rs 1 lakh on a petitioner from Karnal district of Haryana. The court emphasized that such action was necessary to ensure that nobody tries to take advantage of the legal system.
