The Bombay High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on Turkish firm Celebi’s petition against the termination of its contract by Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) to June 25. The adjournment was granted by mutual consent after both parties requested a postponement.
Celebi, a company providing ground handling and airport services at Mumbai Airport, filed the petition after its contract with MIAL was terminated following a decision by India’s aviation security regulator, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). Earlier this month, BCAS revoked the security clearance of Celebi Airport Services India, citing national security concerns. This revocation came amid tensions related to Turkiye’s support for Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, which has sparked backlash in India.
In response to the security clearance revocation, Celebi Nas Airport Services India, in which Celebi holds a 59% stake, moved the Bombay High Court. The company has argued that both the security clearance revocation and the contract termination were arbitrary and illegal.

The court’s decision to adjourn the matter has left the company seeking legal redress for its claims of wrongful treatment and breach of contractual obligations. The case will be revisited on June 25 for further proceedings.
