Two Supreme Court Judges Test positive for Covid-19

Amid the rise of Covid-19 cases, two judges of the Hon’ble Supreme Court have tested positive for Coid-19 and as per reports.

The Supreme Court has also sent samples of fifteen judges for testing through the RT PCR test since the protocol of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, judges who will be attending the oath-taking ceremony of the incoming CJI NV Ramana, have to test negative for Covid-19.

Apart from some judges of the Apex Court, infection amongst registry staff is also on the rise.

During the hearing of the case, Hon’ble Justice Indira Banerjee remarked that judges of the Supreme Court were short-staffed as some staff members were in quarantine/isolation.

Hon’ble Justice MR Shah has also stated that his staff members have also tested positive for Covid-19 and the current time was troubling.

As per a notification, starting from April 22, the Supreme Court will only take up urgent cases.
