Five Judicial Officers Appointed as Judges of Allahabad High Court

The Central Government has notified the appointment of five judicial officers as Judges of the Allahabad High Court. The appointments were made by the President of India under Article 217(1) of the Constitution.

According to the notification dated August 4, 2025, the following judicial officers have been elevated:

  1. Pramod Kumar Srivastava
  2. Abdul Shahid
  3. Santosh Rai
  4. Tej Pratap Tiwari
  5. Zafeer Ahmad

They have been appointed in the order of seniority mentioned above and will assume charge upon taking oath of office.

The appointments were issued by the Appointments Division of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, and have been communicated to all relevant authorities, including the Governor and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Justice and Registrar General of the Allahabad High Court, and the Supreme Court of India.

This move comes as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the judiciary and fill existing vacancies in the Allahabad High Court, which is one of the largest high courts in the country.
