Five Awarded Life Imprisonment in Triple Murder Case in Jharkhand

A court in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Thursday sentenced five men to life imprisonment for their role in a brutal triple murder committed over a land dispute last year.

The court of Principal District and Sessions Judge, West Singhbhum, found the accused guilty of murdering a woman and her two minor daughters in February 2024. Along with life sentences, the convicts were each fined ₹15,000.

The victims—Roivari Sinku and her daughters, Raimuni and Rasika—were residents of Bada Nurda village under Hatgamariah police station limits. Investigations revealed that the killings stemmed from a simmering land dispute with the convicts, who also hailed from the same village.

According to the prosecution, the accused killed the mother and daughters before attempting to cover up the crime by dumping their bodies on a railway track between Kendapisi and Talaburu villages, to make it appear as an accident.

Following the gruesome discovery, police swiftly apprehended the accused and filed a chargesheet after detailed investigation. The men remained in judicial custody throughout the trial.
