The union government has used ‘her’ and’she’ to refer to individuals regardless of gender in the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022, a first in India’s legislative reforms, instead of ‘he’ and ‘him’. The pronouns “her” and “she” have been used for individuals regardless of gender, according to Section 3(3) of the Bill’s Interpretation Clause.
