Delhi Court to Rule on AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan’s Anticipatory Bail on February 25

A Delhi court is set to deliver its verdict on the anticipatory bail application of Amanatullah Khan, an AAP MLA, on February 25. Khan has been implicated in a case concerning an attack on a Delhi Police team in Jamia Nagar earlier this month.

The court, presided over by Special Judge Jitendra Singh, granted Khan a one-day reprieve from arrest and scheduled the next hearing for arguments from both the prosecution and the defense. During this upcoming session, the court will review evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements submitted by the Delhi Police, which seeks Khan’s custody for further interrogation regarding his presence at the scene of the attack.

Delhi Police allege that on February 10, Khan led a group that obstructed the Crime Branch officers as they attempted to apprehend Shabaz Khan, a proclaimed offender involved in an attempt-to-murder case. The confrontation reportedly enabled Shabaz Khan to evade capture.
