Delhi Court Denies Bail to Four Co-Owners of Coaching Centre Following Tragic Drowning Incident

A Delhi court on Friday denied bail to four co-owners of a coaching centre where a tragic incident last month resulted in the drowning deaths of three civil services aspirants. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna stated that the investigation is still in its early stages and thus, she was not inclined to grant bail at this point.

The incident, which occurred in the basement of a coaching centre located in Old Rajinder Nagar, has drawn significant public attention and outcry. The detailed order from the court is still pending, but the decision came after the Delhi High Court transferred the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from the local police. This move was made to ensure the investigation’s integrity and to maintain public trust in the proceedings.

On August 17, the court had reserved its order following arguments from the CBI and the lawyers representing the four joint owners of the basement—Parvinder Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Sarbjit Singh.
