CrPC Sec 374: Acquittal Cannot Rest on Cryptic Discussion of Evidence Without Analysis or Reasoning: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has set aside a judgment of the Punjab and Haryana High Court which had acquitted a man accused of murdering his wife. The Apex Court termed the High Court’s order “cryptic” and observed that the reasoning for acquittal appeared to be based on “assumptions and presumptions.” A Division Bench comprising Justice B.V.
