A significant development occurred in the alleged land-for-jobs scam case as a Delhi court on Saturday postponed its decision on taking cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) supplementary charge sheet. The document implicates former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, his son Tejashwi Yadav, and eight others.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne delayed the order until September 7, citing the need for further clarifications. The supplementary charge sheet was initially filed on August 6, following an FIR by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The controversy centers around alleged Group-D appointments made in the West Central Zone of the railways in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, during Lalu Yadav’s tenure from 2004 to 2009. According to the ED, these positions were supposedly exchanged for land parcels, which were either gifted or transferred to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader’s family or his associates.
