CM’s Meeting Today on Adequate Arrangements for Electricity and Water, Rajasthan High Court Directs Proper Management

In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is set to hold a crucial meeting today, focused on preparations for the ongoing heatwave, as well as issues related to electricity, water supply, and medical services. The meeting will gather feedback from the responsible secretaries. High-ranking officials including the Chief Secretary, Sudhansh Pant, and various principal secretaries and additional chief secretaries will also attend.

The meeting, scheduled for 11 AM at the Secretariat, will see Chief Minister Sharma reviewing reports from the charge secretaries. Recently, the government instructed all charge secretaries to visit districts and prepare feedback reports. Notably, the High Court on Thursday took suo moto cognizance of the heatwave and issued directives to the government to ensure adequate arrangements are in place. The court also ordered the government to provide compensation to the families of those killed by the heatwave.

So far, the heatwave has caused several deaths across the state, though official figures from the health department currently recognize only five heatwave-related fatalities, raising concerns about the actual impact.
