9th December, 2025: As a significant step towards strengthening Judicial infrastructure in the State, the Virtual Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the construction of Civil Court buildings at Kartala, District Korba (C.G.), and Pamgarh, District Janjgir–Champa (C.G.) was held on 9th December 2025. The auspicious event was graced by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, who virtually laid the foundation stone for both the projects. His Lordship’s inspiring leadership continues to guide the Judicial fraternity towards progressive reform and infrastructure development.
The ceremony was followed by a brief video presentation showcasing the project sites and reflecting the vision, planning, and commitment to quality and efficiency underlying these initiatives.
In his keynote address, Hon’ble the Chief Justice expressed his appreciation and deep satisfaction on the formal commencement of these vital projects. His Lordship highlighted that the development of well-equipped Judicial infrastructure is indispensable for ensuring the well-being of Court personnel, upholding their dignity, and enhancing the overall efficiency of the Justice delivery system.
The Chief Justice underscored that a well-supported Judicial workforce forms the backbone of an effective Judicial system. He noted that infrastructure development, particularly in remote and developing regions, significantly boosts the morale of staff and reinforces institutional functioning at the grassroots level. He further emphasized that a conducive and well-developed Court environment is essential for litigants, Court Staff, and Judicial Officers, as it enhances efficiency and contributes to optimal Judicial outcomes.
His Lordship also appreciated the effective coordination between the Judiciary and the District Administration in advancing these projects. He reiterated the Judiciary’s commitment to ensuring that every Court complex in the State is equipped with essential and modern amenities. He congratulated all those involved and expressed hope that the construction would be completed in a time-bound manner while maintaining the highest standards of quality and planning.
The programme was further enriched by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Sanjay Agrawal, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge of District Korba and Janjgir–Champa. Other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court also witnessed the programme online.
Also were present the Registrar General and the Officers of the Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Judicial Officers, District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Members of Bar Association, Office-bearers and Court personnel from the respective districts.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Santosh Sharma, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Korba, who highlighted the importance of the projects and expressed gratitude to the dignitaries and stakeholders for their support.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Shakti Singh Rajput, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Janjgir–Champa (C.G.), who conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble the Chief Justice, Hon’ble Judges, Officers of the District Administration, and the dedicated teams whose combined efforts contributed to the success of the programme.
This occasion marks yet another meaningful stride in the Chhattisgarh Judiciary’s commitment to strengthening institutional infrastructure and promoting the well-being of judicial officers and staff at all levels. The initiative serves as an important step towards enhancing working conditions and ensuring robust institutional support at the grassroots.
