Bemetara, Chhattisgarh – October 22, 2024 – Today marked a historical advancement in the justice delivery system as the virtual Bhumi Pujan and foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Family Court building in Bemetara district was successfully held at 10:00 a.m. Due to the commitment to leveraging technology and ensuring safety, the entire event was conducted online, enabling broader participation.
Presiding over the digital platform, the Hon‘ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, addressed the virtual gathering with insight and foresight along with the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, and Portfolio Judge for Bemetara District.
Addressing virtually from the High Court premises, Hon’ble Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha, in his impactful virtual address, underscored the critical importance of robust infrastructure in ensuring the effective administration of justice. His lordship emphasized his vision to establish proper Judicial infrastructure and residential facilities in every district. In line with this vision, the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for the new Family Court building is being organized.
Hon’ble Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha extended heartfelt congratulations to everyone on the occasion of this Bhumi Pujan. It was remarked by His Lordship that this ceremony signifies merely the initial step in the development of a robust judicial infrastructure. The sustained diligence of the Public Works Department is demanded to ensure its timely completion. Furthermore, it was emphasized that cleanliness and proper upkeep of the facility are crucial to ensuring that it serves as an effective tool for public justice and the greater good.
This proposed family Court building, spanning 18,000 sq. ft., will be equipped with essential facilities such as a courtroom, retiring room, library, steno room, reader’s room, meeting hall, accounts section, copying section, dispatch section, nazrat section, room for administrative officer and staff, Bar room, video conferencing room, mediation room, computer room, store room, child care area (Kilkari), waiting area, central filing facility, and common rooms for men and women, along with an information centre—all vital to enhancing legal services. The project has a completion timeframe of 15 months, with a budget allocation of ₹2.73 crores to ensure timely delivery.
Hon’ble Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha extended his best wishes for the successful and timely completion of the project. His unwavering commitment to the establishment and improvement of judicial infrastructure remains a top priority, as reflected in this significant initiative.
The virtual ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, legal professionals, officers from judiciary and administration, print and electronic media, all expressing excitement for the new Family Court building’s potential to enhance legal proceedings and accessibility in the region.
