Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha Leads Bhoomi Pujan, Foundation Stone Laying of 1000-Seat ‘Platinum Hall’ at Chhattisgarh High Court

The Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying ceremony of the new “Platinum Hall”, a 1000-capacity auditorium, was held today in the premises of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur. The ceremony was presided over by Hon’ble Shri  Justice  Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice High Court of Chhattisgarh.

The ceremony was graced by the august presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Hon’ble Shri Justice Parth Prateem Sahu, Hon’ble Smt. Justice Rajani Dubey, Hon’ble Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Hon’ble Shri Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Hon’ble Shri Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, Hon’ble Shri Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Hon’ble Shri Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Hon’ble Shri Justice Arvind Kumar Verma, Hon’ble Shri Justice Bibhu Datta Guru, and Hon’ble Shri Justice Amitendra Kishore Prasad.

The Platinum Hall marks a historic milestone in the infrastructural development of the High Court under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Justice. The state-of-the-art facility is being constructed with a sanctioned cost of ₹2266.59 lakhs and a total built-up area of 7905 sq. meters.

The auditorium has been designed keeping in view the requirements of the next 50 years. It will not only serve judicial purposes but also provide a modern venue for academic programs, training workshops, cultural activities, and other significant events. The multipurpose hall will benefit the Judiciary, Members of the Bar, District Judiciary, Academicians, and the Legal Fraternity at large.

Facilities include basement parking, kitchen, green rooms, lounges, VIP porch, spacious lobby, dining hall, HVAC systems, lifts, and modern fire safety arrangements. Additional parking for approximately 300 vehicles and landscaped gardens will also be available.

Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice High Court of Chhattisgarh ,recalled that when the High Court of Chhattisgarh was established on 1st November 2000, it had only a 300-seat auditorium. Now, in its Silver Jubilee Year, with the support of the State Government, the High Court is progressing towards a modern 1000-seat Platinum Hall, which will stand as a symbol of judicial progress, knowledge sharing, and commitment to justice.

The program commenced with a welcome address by the Registrar General (In-charge) and concluded with a vote of thanks by the  Registrar (Establishment).

The ceremony was attended by Principal Secretary, Law and Legislative Department, Additional Advocate General, President and Secretary High Court Bar Association, Director of the Chhattisgarh Judicial Academy, Member Secretary of the State Legal Services Authority, Officers of Registry, Collector, Senior Police Officials, Advocates , Trainee Judges, Court  Staff, and Members of the Print and Electronic Media.
