Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha Champions Digitization, e-Certified Copies, and FASTER Cell for Efficient Justice

BILASPUR, MAY 27, 2025 – In a landmark move towards modernizing the judicial landscape of Chhattisgarh, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh today virtually inaugurated five Digitization Centres one each at District and Sessions Court of Dhamtari, Kondagaon, Uttar Bastar Kanker, Bastar at Jagdalpur & Dakshin Bastar Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), launched FASTER Cell & e-Certified Copy services at the High Court. The initiative aims to enhance efficiency, accessibility and transparency in justice delivery across the State.

The event was attended by Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Chairman of the Computerization Committee, Shri Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Member of the Computerization Committee, Shri Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Portfolio Judge of District Bastar at Jagdalpur and also Member of the Computerization Committee, Shri Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Member of the Computerization Committee and Shri Justice Bibhu Datta Guru, Portfolio Judge of Dakshin Bastar (Dantewada) and also a Member of the Computerization Committee.

In his much inspiring address, Hon’ble The Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha emphasized the integration of technology into the mainstream judicial function. “The Digitization Centres, a project envisioned under the supervision of the Supreme Court of India, will address the issue of voluminous physical records, making them easily accessible and preventing loss”, remarked Hon’ble The Chief Justice.

His Lordship noted that by today, ten Districts in the State have introduced this project and expressed hope that it would be implemented across the entire State of Chhattisgarh by the end of June.

Hon’ble The Chief Justice, urged all stakeholders, including lawyers, litigants, and court staff, to make full use of these new facilities.

Further reflecting on bolstering digital accessibility, His Lordship highlighted the paradigm shift brought about by the introduction of e-Certified Copy and the FASTER Cell, His Lordship expressed, “The e-Certified Copy platform allows online applications for certified copies of court orders and judgments, eliminating the need for physical visits and long queues, while promoting sustainability by reducing paper usage. The FASTER (Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records), aims to ensure the swift and secure transmission of electronic records. This system will facilitate immediate and e-authenticated delivery of judgments and orders to relevant courts and authorities, significantly improving the efficiency of the judicial system, particularly in the timely release of individuals after bail is granted”.

The event commenced with the welcome address by Principal District & Sessions Judge, Dhamtari and concluded with the vote of thanks by Principal District & Sessions Judge, Uttar Bastar Kanker.

The event was attended by Judicial Officers including the Principal District & Sessions Judges, Presidents and Members of the District Bar Associations, Employees and Administrative Officers from the five Districts.

The event was also attended by the Registrar General and Officers from the High Court Registry.
