Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha Calls Rule of Law the ‘Unshakeable Pillar of the Republic’ at Balodabazar Bar Seminar

 Balodabazar – 21 November 2025, A seminar on “Rule of Law: The Foundation of Justice” was organized by the District Bar Association, Balodabazar at the District Court premises on 21 November 2025. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Hon’ble the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, as the Chief Guest, who inaugurated the programme and delivered the keynote address.  

Hon’ble the Chief Justice underscored that the Rule of Law constitutes the bedrock of our constitutional democracy, safeguarding the principles of legality, fairness, accountability, and transparency in governance. His Lordship emphasized that the supremacy of Law must prevail over individuals or institutions, ensuring that justice remains accessible, impartial, fearless, and timely for every citizen.

Speaking on the role of the Bar, His Lordship observed that Advocates are the first custodians of justice, articulating the grievances of citizens before the courts with clarity, diligence, and ethical responsibility. The judiciary, His Lordship affirmed, draws its strength not from coercive authority but from public trust, fostered only when justice is administered without fear or favour.  

His Lordship further highlighted the imperative of technological advancement, institutional reform, and capacity-building to reinforce the justice delivery system. At the same time, the Rule of Law must reflect empathy and a humane approach, particularly towards victims, women, children, under-trial prisoners, and marginalized communities whose rights are most vulnerable.

In his concluding remarks, Hon’ble the Chief Justice reiterated that truth, equality, and impartiality form the foundation of a just social order and called for unified commitment among all stakeholders to preserve and strengthen the Rule of Law as the unshakeable pillar of the Republic of India.  

The programme was further enriched by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Rajani Dubey, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice B.D. Guru, who addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights.

Also were present The Registrar General, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Judicial Officers, Bar Members, and Senior Administrative and Police Officials including the Collector and Superintendent of Police , Balodabazar.

 The event commenced with a welcome address by Senior Advocate Mr. Bhupendra Singh Thakur and concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the President, District Bar Association, Balodabazar. 

The seminar marked a significant step towards fostering awareness, strengthening collaboration, and reaffirming collective dedication to uphold the ideals of Justice and the Rule of Law for a more equitable and progressive society.
