Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud Visits Ayodhya, Offers Prayers at Ram Temple

Ayodhya, July 13, 2024: Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud offered prayers at the revered Ram temple in Ayodhya on Friday, marking a significant visit to the holy city. 

According to the district administration, CJI Chandrachud’s visit commenced at around 3 PM when he landed at the Ayodhya airport. The Chief Justice was warmly received by District Magistrate Nitish Kumar upon his arrival. The visit included a spiritual itinerary, highlighting the cultural and religious significance of Ayodhya.

The CJI’s first stop was the Hanumangarhi temple, a prominent shrine dedicated to Lord Hanuman, where he participated in the traditional rituals. Following this, he proceeded to the Ram temple, which holds a central place in Hindu worship and has been the focus of intense national attention and devotion.

District Magistrate Nitish Kumar, speaking to PTI, mentioned that Justice Chandrachud spent nearly two-and-a-half hours in Ayodhya. His visit encompassed significant temples and allowed time for reflection and prayers amidst the historic and spiritually charged environment.

The Chief Justice’s schedule was meticulously planned to include a smooth transit, and he departed for Lucknow by helicopter from the Ramkatha Park helipad at approximately 5:30 PM. This brief but meaningful visit underscores the CJI’s respect for the cultural heritage and religious traditions of India.

The Ram temple, a site of profound importance in Indian history and spirituality, continues to attract dignitaries and devotees from across the nation. CJI Chandrachud’s visit adds to the long list of notable personalities who have sought blessings at this sacred site.
