Raipur/Bilaspur, February 26, 2025: In a significant milestone towards judicial infrastructure development, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, The Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, conducted the Bhoomi Poojan and laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited Guest House for the Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Civil Lines, Raipur. This visionary initiative underscores a steadfast commitment to enhancing judicial facilities, ensuring greater comfort, convenience, and efficiency for the esteemed Judiciary.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, The Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, expressed that since assuming office, providing enhanced judicial infrastructure, accommodation for Judicial Officers and Staff, and well-equipped Court Buildings has been his top priority. His Lordship highlighted the sincere efforts he has made in this direction, efforts that have been strongly supported by the State Government:
“The State Government has acknowledged my suggestions and advice, providing the necessary resources and facilities,” His Lordship remarked. As a result, judicial infrastructure, Court buildings and accommodation facilities for Judicial Officers and Staff in Chhattisgarh have grown increasingly robust and advanced.

Further emphasizing the importance of infrastructure, Hon’ble the Chief Justice stated that as part of judicial infrastructure development, the foundation stone and Bhoomi Pujan for the guest house for the Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court is being conducted.
Reflecting on his vision, Hon’ble the Chief Justice shared that since assuming office, he had always envisioned an exclusive Guest House for the High Court judges, similar to those found in other States. To bring this idea to reality, he engaged in discussions with fellow Judges, and deliberations were held regarding the ideal location for the guest house. After thorough discussions and efforts to arrange suitable land within the city, today marks the realization of that idea, with the foundation stone being laid at this prime location in the heart of Raipur.
Hon’ble The Chief Justice expressed his gratitude towards the Government of Chhattisgarh for their unwavering support in bringing this project to reality, stating that this initiative is a testament to the collaborative efforts between the Judiciary and the State, working hand-in-hand to strengthen the Judicial system.
Adding further significance to the project, Hon’ble the Chief Justice announced that the Guest House would not only be available for the serving Judges of the High Court but also available for former Judges of the High Court.
Hon’ble The Chief Justice concluded his address with best wishes for the successful and timely completion of the Guest House project, emphasizing its benefits for the sitting as well as former Judges of the High Court.
The Guest house, for which the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony and foundation stone laying took place, will cover a total construction area of 2,675.02 square meters. The building will consist of a ground, first and second floors. This Guest house will include:

- 04 Suites
- 07 Super deluxe rooms
- 04 other facility rooms
- Reception area
- Waiting lobby
- VIP lounge
- 40-seater Board room
- Conference hall
- Dining area for 40 persons
- Kitchen
- Caretaker room

- Laundry facility
- Protocol office
- Other modern amenities
The facility is designed to provide top-notch comfort and services.
It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh High Court is celebrating the 25th year of its formation, the “Silver Jubilee Year.” A series of inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies for various judicial infrastructure projects was initiated by Hon’ble the Chief Justice from November 1, 2024. As part of this, the following events took place:
- November 4, 2024: The much-awaited and newly established District and Additional Session Court was inaugurated in Narayanpur revenue district.
- November 20, 2024: The Post Office in South Bastar Dantewada district court complex and a residential colony with 24 housing units for judicial officers and staff was inaugurated in G.A.D. Colony, Bijapur.
- December 2, 2024: The much-anticipated and newly established Civil Court at Arang, a tehsil headquarters in Raipur district, was inaugurated.
- December 23, 2024: The foundation stone for the new District Court building in Balod was laid.
- January 4, 2025: In Raigarh district, the inauguration of a residential colony for judicial officers, an additional court building in Gharghora, and residential quarters for staff took place. Additionally, the foundation stone for the proposed Nyaya Sadan building in the district court complex Raigarh was laid.
- January 5, 2025: The foundation stone for a 68-unit residential colony in Junwani, District Durg, was laid.
- January 9, 2025: Inauguration of a newly constructed Residential Colony for the Judicial Officers in Janjgir-Champa.
Today, in the series of Judicial Infrastructure developments in the “Silver Jubilee Year”, the foundation stone was laid for the much-awaited Guest House for the Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Civil Lines, Raipur.

The Bhoomi Poojan and foundation stone laying ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Shri K. Vinod Kujur, Registrar General, High Court of Chhattisgarh. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Shri Rajnish Shrivastava, Principal Secretary, C.G. Government, Law and Legislative Affairs Department.
On this occasion, Principal District and Sessions Judge Raipur, Principal Judge Family Court Raipur, Officers of Registry, Judicial Officers of District Judiciary, and Judicial Officers on deputation were also present.
