Chhattisgarh High Court concludes fortnightly “Swachhata hi Seva” Campaign as Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

We must internalize Mahatma Gandhi’s Principles in everyday life – Hon’ble Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha.

In a noble tribute to commemorate the legacy of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his 155th birth anniversary, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, offered his tributes before the bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the High Court of Chhattisgarh.

Hon’ble The Chief Justice, Shri Ramesh Sinha, in his address, described Gandhi’s life as a paradigm of excellence and underscored the necessity to embody his principles of truth, harmony, and cleanliness in daily lives. Hon’ble The Chief Justice appealed to Officers and Employees to internalize Mahatma Gandhi’s principles in everyday life. He expressed that one must imbibe the ideals and principles of Mahatma Gandhi in its letter and spirit, which would be a true homage to our Father of the Nation.

Under the esteemed guidance and inspiration of Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, the “Swachhata hi Seva” campaign commenced on September 17th, 2024, and culminated in a ceremonial observance on October 2nd, paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

The “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign witnessed active participation from a wide array of employees, including senior officials, engaging in voluntary labor to enhance the cleanliness of critical sites such as office complexes, gardens, and public walkways. This collective effort aimed to reinforce the importance of maintaining a pristine environment as a reflection of the teachings and values championed by Mahatma Gandhi.

In alignment with the instructions of Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief, CGSLSA, the Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, State Judicial Academy, and all District Courts within the state, celebrated the campaign with heightened zeal and enthusiasm. Judicial officers and staff took part actively in labor efforts, thereby actualizing Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of sustainable living and social responsibility. To encourage and promote the drive, Hon’ble The Chief Justice also distributed mementos to the participant employees and officers of different Sections, who diligently performed during this fortnight campaign “Swachhata hi Seva.” The first position was secured by the Mediation Centre, the second position was secured by the Works Section, and the third position was secured by the Central Filing Section during the campaign.

Hon’ble The Chief Justice has always prioritized cleanliness and cooperation, for effectively developing a sense of unity and civic responsibility among Officers and Staff of the High Court and District Court establishment, thereby catering for a better working environment for one and all. This initiative led by Hon’ble The Chief Justice has significantly heightened public awareness regarding cleanliness and reaffirmed the community’s regard for Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless values.

During the ceremony, Judges from the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Hon’ble Shri Justice Parth Prateem Sahu, Hon’ble Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Hon’ble Shri Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Hon’ble Shri Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari, Hon’ble Shri Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, Hon’ble Shri Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Hon’ble Shri Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Hon’ble Shri Justice Arvind Kumar Verma, Hon’ble Shri Justice B.D. Guru and Hon’ble Shri Justice A.K. Prasad, Advocate General Shri Prafull N. Bharat and other Add. Advocate Generals, Chairman of High Court Bar Association Shri U.S. Chandel and other office bearers of the Association, Senior Advocates and other Advocates, Registrar General Shri Balram Prasad Verma, Director CSJA Shri Sirajuddin Qureshi, Fifty Newly Inducted Judicial Officers from CSJA along with Other Officers and Staff from High Court Registry were present.
