Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh – March 04, 2025 – Today marked a significant step towards enhancing judicial infrastructure as the virtual Bhoomi Pujan and laying of the foundation stone for the much-awaited new Civil Court building in Tehsil Saja, District Bemetara was successfully conducted at 10:00 a.m. by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh. Due to the commitment to leveraging technology, the event was conducted online, enabling broader participation. A PowerPoint presentation of the proposed building, displaying the facilities, was also showcased at the event.
Presiding over the digital platform, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, addressed the virtual gathering with insight and foresight, along with the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, and Portfolio Judge for Bemetara District.
Judicial Infrastructure Development
Addressing virtually from the High Court premises, Hon’ble The Chief Justice emphasized the critical importance of robust infrastructure in ensuring the effective administration of justice. His Lordship underscored the vision of establishing proper judicial infrastructure equipped with advanced technology and facilities such as banks, dispensaries, post offices, and residential facilities in every district.
Hon’ble The Chief Justice remarked:
“We have been harping on the need for a good infrastructure for the judiciary in the State, and today is a step forward as we are marching ahead.”
Stressing the commitment of the High Court and cooperation of the State Government, Hon’ble The Chief Justice stated:
“Qualitative Infrastructure is essential for ensuring fair and efficient access to justice, and it is our vision to establish qualitative judicial infrastructure in every District. The High Court is committed to providing the best infrastructure to the District Judiciary, and we, in coordination and cooperation with the State, are marching ahead.”
His Lordship directed the timely completion of the project without compromising on quality, ensuring that the building sets a benchmark for future constructions.

A total of 1 hectare of land has been allocated for the project, with a completion timeframe of 12 months and a budget of ₹7,51,75,000.
Judicial Infrastructure Progress in Chhattisgarh
The Chhattisgarh High Court is celebrating its 25th year (Silver Jubilee Year), during which a series of judicial infrastructure projects have been inaugurated:
- November 4, 2024: Inauguration of District and Additional Session Court in Narayanpur.
- November 20, 2024: Inauguration of Post Office in Dantewada District Court Complex and 24 housing units for Judicial Officers & Staff in Bijapur.
- December 2, 2024: Inauguration of Civil Court in Arang, Raipur District.
- December 23, 2024: Foundation stone laid for District Court in Balod.
- January 4, 2025: Inauguration of Residential Colony for Judicial Officers in Raigarh District.
- January 5, 2025: Foundation stone laid for 68-unit Residential Colony in Junwani, Durg.
- January 9, 2025: Inauguration of Residential Colony for Judicial Officers in Janjgir-Champa.
- February 26, 2025: Foundation stone laid for Guest House for High Court Judges in Civil Lines, Raipur.
As part of this Silver Jubilee Year, today’s Bhoomi Pujan and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the Civil Court in Tehsil Saja, District Bemetara, marks another milestone in strengthening the judicial infrastructure.
