Chhattisgarh HC CJ Ramesh Sinha Launches Digitization Centre- A Step Towards Paperless Court

Today, on January 25, 2025, a significant and concrete step was taken towards realizing the concept of a Paperless Court, transparent and speedy justice in the State of Chhattisgarh with the inauguration of the “Digitization Center” in the High Court of Chhattisgarh. The “Digitization Center” was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh by cutting the ribbon, symbolizing the commitment to advancing the digitization of documents and modernizing Court operations.  

On this occasion, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh expressed that today is the time of technology and virtual hearings. We have successfully conducted case hearings through virtual means during COVID-19, and today, taking a significant step towards Paperless Courts, the “Digitization Center” is being inaugurated. In this center, the documents of pending cases will be digitized, through which we will be able to realize the concept of Paperless Courts.

The Hon’ble Chief Justice reiterated that digitizing documents is a crucial and sensitive task. It is imperative to ensure that no document is overlooked during the digitization process and that records from different cases do not get mixed up, as this could lead to serious consequences.

His Lordship also stressed the importance of completing the digitization process efficiently and urged everyone to work diligently to meet the timelines.  

While acknowledging that technology has its advantages and challenges, The Hon’ble Chief Justice emphasized the need to leverage technology for the betterment of the Judiciary, enhancing transparency and the delivery of prompt justice.  

**Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh**, has always been in favour of using modern technology in the activities of the Judiciary. All the District Courts of the State and the National Lok Adalats have been inspected by The Hon’ble Chief Justice from time to time using modern technology and digital resources. The Hon’ble Chief Justice has been virtually inaugurating the Judicial infrastructure projects, Court Buildings, and Residential Quarters of Officers and Employees. Due to the initiative and efforts of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, today the Chhattisgarh Judiciary is among the leading States in providing speedy, accessible, and affordable justice to the people using technical and digital resources.

The inauguration program of the “Digitization Center” was held in the august presence of Smt. Justice Rajani Dubey, Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Shri Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari, Shri Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, Shri Justice Ravindra Agrawal, Shri Justice Arvind Kumar Verma, Shri Justice B.D. Guru and Shri Justice A.K. Prasad.  

On this occasion, Registrar General Shri K. Vinod Kujur, Officers of the registry, Officers of the State Judicial Academy, and Employees of the High Court were present.
