Bilaspur, 1 April 2026: In a major initiative aimed at augmenting Judicial infrastructure across the State, the Virtual Opening of the Court of District & Additional Sessions Court, Kharsiya, along with the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of Judicial Officers’ Residence at Kharsiya and the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of Digital Computer Room at District & Additional Sessions Court, Sarangarh, Civil District–Raigarh (C.G.), was held on Wednesday, 1 April 2026 at the District & Sessions Court, Raigarh. The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, who virtually inaugurated the Court at Kharsiya and laid the foundation stone for the projects.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble the Chief Justice emphasized that robust judicial infrastructure forms the backbone of an effective, accessible, and people-centric justice delivery system. His Lordship observed that the establishment of new Courts equipped with modern facilities, along with the provision of residential accommodation for judicial officers and development of digital infrastructure, enhances the efficiency of court administration and ensures a conducive environment for the impartial and independent discharge of judicial functions. His Lordship further underscored that such initiatives strengthen institutional capacity, improve working conditions for Judicial Officers and Staff, and contribute to timely justice delivery. Emphasizing the State’s commitment to balanced regional development, the Hon’ble Chief Justice stated that strengthening Judicial infrastructure at the District level reinforces public confidence in the justice system and upholds the constitutional mandate of equal access to justice.
The event was held in the august virtual presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge, Civil District–Raigarh.
Also were present the Registrar General and the Officers of the Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Judicial Officers, District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Members of Bar Association, Office-bearers and Court personnel from the respective districts.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Jitendra Kumar Jain, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Raigarh. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Shobhna Koshta, Special Judge under SC/ST (P.A.) Act, Raigarh, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Judges, officers, and all stakeholders for their support and coordination in the successful conduct of the ceremony.
The event reaffirmed the High Court of Chhattisgarh’s continued commitment to infrastructure development and the strengthening of the justice delivery system across the State.
