Chhattisgarh HC Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha Virtually Lays Foundation Stone for Civil Court Staff Quarters at Ambagarh Chowki

21st July, 2025: As a major stride in enhancing Judicial infrastructure across the State, the Virtual Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the construction of residential quarters for Civil Court staff was held on 21st July, 2025, at Ambagarh Chowki, District Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki (C.G.). The auspicious event was graced by the Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice , High Court of Chhattisgarh, who virtually laid the foundation stone of the project. His Lordship’s inspiring leadership continues to guide the judicial fraternity towards progressive reforms and infrastructure development.

The virtual ceremony was followed by a short video presentation depicting the site and project overview of the upcoming residential quarters, reflecting the planned development and the commitment to quality and efficiency.

Joining His Lordship were Hon’ble Shri Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge of District Rajnandgaon. The Hon’ble Judges of High Court also witnessed the programme virtually.

Also present were the Registrar General and Officers of the Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Judicial Officers, District Magistrates, Superintendent of Police, Office-bearers of Bar Associations, and Court personnel from the respective District. The Judicial officers of other districts joined the programme virtually.

In his keynote address, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, expressed his appreciation for the timely initiative to construct residential quarters for civil court staff at Ambagarh Chowki and expressed immense satisfaction on the initiation of this project. He highlighted that providing suitable living facilities for court personnel is essential to ensuring their well-being, dignity, and professional efficiency.

The Chief Justice emphasised that a well-supported judicial workforce is the foundation of an effective justice delivery system. He stated that infrastructure development in the judiciary, especially in remote and developing regions, not only enhances the morale of staff but also strengthens institutional functioning at the grassroots level. A well-developed infrastructure is essential for litigants, court staff, and judicial officers, as a positive atmosphere is crucial for ensuring maximum efficiency and optimal outcomes.

He also appreciated the coordination between the judiciary and district administration for taking forward this project and reiterated the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring that every court complex is equipped with basic and modern amenities.

His lordship congratulated all those involved in the project and expressed hope that the construction would be completed in a time-bound manner with the highest standards of quality and planning.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Smt. Sushma Sawant, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajnandgaon, who highlighted the significance of the project and extended her gratitude to the dignitaries and stakeholders involved.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Avinash Kumar Tripathi, District & Additional Sessions Judge (FTC), Ambagarh Chowki, who conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble the Chief Justice, Hon’ble Judges, Officers of District administration and the dedicated team members whose combined efforts made this event successful.
