Chhattisgarh Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha Virtually Releases Mediation Book, Launches “Nyay Mitra” App, Lays Foundation Stone for Judges’ Quarters in Durg

Bilaspur, December 16, 2025: In a significant step towards strengthening Judicial infrastructure, promoting technological innovation, and advancing alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, virtually released a book on mediation titled “Mediation – A Journey of Resolution and Harmony”, launched the “Nyay Mitra” mobile application, and performed the Bhoomi Poojan and foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of residential quarters for the Principal District Judge, Durg, and the Principal Judge, Family Court, Durg  

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Chief Justice expressed satisfaction over the continuous progress of Judicial infrastructure across the State. Speaking on the book on mediation, the Hon’ble Chief Justice stated that mediation is a cornerstone of the national vision of “Mediation for the Nation” and plays a vital role in providing speedy, amicable, and cost-effective resolution of disputes. The publication, reflecting the efforts of the District Court, Durg, is expected to strengthen mediation practices at the grassroots level and enhance public awareness of settlement-based justice. Referring to the launch of the “Nyay Mitra” mobile application, His Lordship described it as an important initiative in furtherance of the objectives of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). The application will enhance the effectiveness of Paralegal Volunteers and enable citizens to access information related to legal services schemes, mediation facilities, and judicial processes in a simple and accessible manner.

The virtual programme was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Executive Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Parth Prateem Sahu, Portfolio Judge for District Durg, along with other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.

Also were present  the Registrar General and the Officers of the Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Judicial Officers, District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police,  Members of Bar Association, Office-bearers and Court personnel from the respective district.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri K. Vinod Kujur, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Durg, and was concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Thomas Ekka, Principal Judge, Family Court, Durg.

The programme reaffirmed the High Court of Chhattisgarh’s commitment to strengthening judicial infrastructure, promoting mediation, and enhancing access to Justice through technology.
