Bilaspur/Date 07-10-2025: In a landmark step towards decongesting the judicial system and promoting people-friendly justice, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India, today marked the successful conclusion of the 90-day nationwide mediation drive, Mediation ‘For the Nation’, held between July 01 to September 30, 2025.
The Mediation ‘For the Nation’ campaign aimed to vigorously promote mediation as a cost-effective, time-saving and amicable mode of dispute resolution across all judicial levels—from Taluka to the High Court. The campaign covered wide spectrum of cases including matrimonial disputes, motor accident claims, domestic violence cases, cheque bounce matters, commercial disputes, service matters, criminal compoundable cases, consumer disputes, debt recovery cases, partition suits, eviction matters, land acquisition disputes, arbitration cases, labour related disputes and other suitable civil cases. The campaign witnessed comprehensive grassroots-level drives across Chhattisgarh to encourage participation and highlight the benefits of mediation.
The campaign saw remarkable participation and achieved significant and effective results in the Chhattisgarh: a total of 11,144 pending cases were referred for mediation during the drive, resulting in the successful and final settlement of 1,962 cases. This substantial clearance underscores the growing public trust and acceptance of mediation as a viable justice delivery mechanism.

The successful conclusion of the intensive Mediation ‘For the Nation’ campaign in Chhattisgarh stands as a compelling testament to the strong institutional leadership and commitment to accessible justice for all. At the forefront of this achievement was the distinguished patronage and visionary guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA). His unwavering emphasis on reducing judicial backlog through the institutionalization of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism served as the foundational force driving the campaign’s proactive outreach and large-scale public engagement.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Executive Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Parth Prateem Sahu, Chairman, Committee to monitor Mediation Centres at High Court and District Courts also extended unwavering guidance throughout the campaign, which was also instrumental in achieving these impressive outcomes, solidifying mediation as an effective and trusted component of the state’s justice delivery system.
