Balod, Chhattisgarh, May1st, 2025: A momentous milestone was achieved today with the Bhoomi Poojan and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the upcoming Civil Court Building at Gunderdehi, District Balod, held in the revered virtual presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh. His Lordship’s visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to the advancement of judicial infrastructure in the State have been instrumental in realizing this significant project.
The event was further dignified by the gracious virtual presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge of District Balod, and other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.
During the ceremony, Hon’ble the Chief Justice virtually laid the foundation stone, symbolizing a forward stride in ensuring accessible and effective justice delivery through modern infrastructure. His Lordship, in his address, expressed his deep appreciation for the concerted efforts taken by Hon’ble Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas ,Portfolio Judge,District Balod .

Hon’ble the Chief Justice, while addressing the gathering, highlighted that “the proposed Civil Court Building will comprise two modern courtrooms, a court library, Judge’s library, common rooms, stationery spaces, and other essential facilities.” He emphasized the need for timely completion of the construction within the stipulated 15-month period, urging the Public Works Department and the contractor to adhere to the highest standards of quality and integrity.
Hon’ble the Chief Justice, a staunch proponent of institutional growth and modern judicial facilities, reiterated the importance of judicial infrastructure not merely as a physical necessity but as a critical facilitator in delivering timely and efficient justice to the common citizen.
The programme commenced with the welcome address by Principal District and Sessions Judge, Balod and concluded with a vote of thanks on behalf of the District Judiciary by Civil Judge (Senior Division), Gunderdehi.
This occasion marks not only the laying of a physical foundation but also a reaffirmation of the collective resolve of the Chhattisgarh Judiciary—guided by the visionary stewardship of Hon’ble the Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha—to strengthen the pillars of justice through progressive, people-centric infrastructure.
The virtual ceremony was also graced by the presence of the Registrar General , Officers of the Registry, Judicial Officers of the District Court, Officials from the District Administration and Police Department, Distinguished Members of the Bar Associations of Balod and Gunderdehi, and Representatives from print and electronic media.
