The Central government on Wednesday notified the appointment of three additional judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court as permanent judges.
The judges elevated to permanent positions are:
- Justice Sumeet Goel
- Justice Sudeepti Sharma
- Justice Kirti Singh
The Ministry of Law and Justice issued the notification stating, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Shri Justice Sumeet Goel, (ii) Smt. Justice Sudeepti Sharma and (iii) Ms. Justice Kirti Singh, Additional Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court, to be Judges of that High Court with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their elevation on March 19, 2024.
All three judges were initially appointed as additional judges of the High Court on November 2, 2023. Their confirmation as permanent judges comes within five months of their initial appointment, signaling a timely decision by the Collegium and the Centre.
