Recently, the Supreme Court ruled that an Arbitrator can grant a post-award interest on the interest amount awarded. In the instant case, pursuant to an award dated 05.06.2005, the Arbitrator awarded Rs 26,08,89,107 in favor of UHL Power Company Ltd towards expenses along with pre-claim interest on expenses incurred.
