The Advocate (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which was earlier made available for public consultation on February 13, 2025, is set to undergo fresh deliberations with stakeholders.
In an official communication issued today by Dhruva Kumar Singh, Chief Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Law & Justice, the government has acknowledged the receipt of multiple suggestions and concerns from various stakeholders and the public.
Given the volume of feedback, authorities have decided to conclude the initial consultation process and revise the draft Bill based on the inputs received. The revised draft will now be processed afresh for further consultation with stakeholders.

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and broad engagement, ensuring that the concerns of legal professionals and the public are adequately addressed before the Bill moves forward.
This development is expected to impact ongoing discussions regarding reforms in the legal profession and regulatory framework. Further updates will follow as the process unfolds.
