In a significant legal development, the Bombay High Court has officially recorded the consent terms resolving the trademark dispute between the Lodha brothers, prominent figures in the real estate sector. The court acknowledged the final mediation report involving Abhishek Lodha of Macrotech Developers and Abhinandan Lodha of the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), marking a conclusive end to their conflict over trademark rights.
Justice Arif Doctor, presiding over the case, commended the mediator, retired Supreme Court Justice R V Raveendran, for his crucial role in achieving the settlement. “I must at this stage note the painstaking efforts of the Learned Mediator, Justice RV Raveendran, which has resulted in these consent terms being arrived at, and also my deep appreciation for all the efforts taken by the Learned Mediator to bring about an amicable resolution of disputes between respondent nos 5 (Abhinandan Lodha) and 16 (Abhishek Lodha),” remarked Justice Doctor.
The legal battle began in January when Macrotech Developers, led by Abhishek Lodha, filed a suit against HoABL, asserting that the latter’s use of the ‘Lodha’ brand constituted trademark infringement. The contention pointed towards potential confusion in the real estate market due to the similar branding.

However, the dispute reached a resolution when both parties, under the guidance of Justice Raveendran, agreed on terms that were formally accepted by the court. The settlement details, however, have been kept confidential as part of the agreement.
