Chandigarh, May 22, 2025 — A day after a threatening message was received at the Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner’s office, another alarming development unfolded Thursday as the Punjab and Haryana High Court received a bomb threat via email. The threat has prompted an immediate and intense security response.
Bomb disposal squads have reached the court premises, and teams from the Chandigarh Police have been deployed across the complex as a precaution. Authorities began evacuating the court building shortly after the threat was confirmed, ensuring the safety of all judges, lawyers, staff, and visitors.
Senior officials have stated that the email is under investigation, and cybersecurity teams are working to trace its origin. “We are treating this with utmost seriousness. All necessary protocols have been activated,” said a senior Chandigarh Police official.

This is the second such threat received in Punjab in just 24 hours, raising concerns about a possible coordinated attempt to disrupt key government institutions. While no explosives have been found yet, the area remains on high alert.
More updates are expected as the situation develops.
