In a recent court appearance at Rouse Avenue Court, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has vehemently claimed a political conspiracy against him and his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in the wake of the Delhi liquor scandal. Kejriwal, who was presented in court following a remand period in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody until March 28, alleged that the charges against him are an attempt to dismantle AAP.
During his court appearance, Kejriwal stated that the allegations were part of a larger plot aimed at his political downfall, emphasizing that the truth would eventually be revealed and justice would prevail. He highlighted the frequent visits by bureaucrats and legislators to his residence, questioning the adequacy of the statements from four individuals to warrant the arrest of a sitting Chief Minister.
Kejriwal also touched upon the contentious issue of electoral bonds, suggesting that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is benefiting financially, a claim that has sparked considerable debate. The ED has contested Kejriwal’s statements, maintaining their stance on the matter.
