The Allahabad High Court has taken serious note of the non-availability of case files that are listed for hearing but not being produced before the bench. Justice Vikram D. Chauhan, while hearing an application filed by one Haseen Miyan, expressed displeasure over this lapse and directed the Registrar General of the High Court to provide an explanation and take immediate corrective steps.
The court noted with concern that several files mentioned in the cause list were repeatedly not being forwarded by the registry, resulting in inconvenience to the appearing counsels. More importantly, the court observed that such conduct amounts to interference in the administration of justice.
“It is being noticed by this court that several files listed in the cause list were not being sent to the court by the registry, which is causing inconvenience to the counsels and it is interference in the administration of justice,” the court said in its order dated July 21.

Directing strict compliance, the bench instructed that a copy of the order be sent to the Registrar General without delay.
The development highlights concerns over administrative inefficiencies affecting the smooth functioning of judicial proceedings, prompting judicial intervention at the highest level within the court’s administrative framework.
