In a scathing indictment of the government department’s apathetic approach towards its retired employees, Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh of the Allahabad High Court at Lucknow ordered the State of U.P. to pay a lump-sum interest of Rs. 50,000 to Naresh Singh, a senior citizen, for the long-delayed payment of his General Provident Fund (GPF) amount.
