The Allahabad High Court at Lucknow has issued notice in a criminal contempt case to an advocate who made corruption allegations against Presiding Officer
In the instant case the allegation against Advocate Vijay Kumar Pandey is that he bishaved with the Presiding Officer, used abusive language, obstructed the proceedings of the Court, manhandled the Court staff, terrorized and pressurised the Court, made allegations of corruption against the Court and brought down the dignity of the Court in the public domain.
Observations of the Court
Hon’ble Court remarked that the allegations made in the complaint were very serious in nature.
It was held that prima facie it was clear that the conduct of the Advocate amounts to committing criminal contempt.

A notice was issued to Advocate Vijay Kumar Pandey and he was directed to be personally present in the Court on 07.12.2020.
The registry was directed to supply a copy of the instant contempt petition to the Additional Government Advocate.
