Allahabad HC Expresses Concern Over Opening of Schools During Amidst COVID19

The Allahabad High Court has shown its concern on the opening of Schools amidst COVID19 Pandemic.

A Bench of Hon’ble Justice Siddharth Varma and Hon’ble Justice Ajit Kumar, while hearing a Public Interest Litigation, through which COVID19 Situation in U.P. is being monitored, observed that it is a matter of concern that whether students and teachers would follow COVID 19 Guidelines?

The Court further observed that there is a possibility that young children might not follow the COVID19 guidelines. Under such circumstances, the Court has directed the District Administration of all the districts to inspect regularly all the schools irrespective of Government or Private and see compliance of COVID 19 guidelines.

Magh Mela

The Court has also observed that the State Government is going to hold Magh Mela, 2021 in January and February 2021. So, on the next date of hearing the Additional Advocate, General shall inform the Court about safeguards which would be taken in this Mela

The State Government informed the Court that in Districts like Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Meerut, policemen have been posted at every 2 kms to ensure compliance of COVID19 guidelines. But the Allahabad High Court has directed the government to give details of such policemen and file a better affidavit.
