Recently, the Allahabad High Court set aside the conviction of three murder accused in a thrity-year-old case. The court noted that the trial court’s conviction order was based on untrustworthy evidence. The court opined that non-examination of the Investigating Officer, seriously prejudiced the accused and this also made a deep dent in the prosecution’s case.
