The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for the re-appointment of Justice (Retd.) Ashok Bhushan as the Chairperson of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).
An official order dated November 7, 2025, confirmed the approval. The re-appointment of the former Supreme Court Judge is effective from the date he assumes charge and will continue until he attains the age of 70 years, which is specified as July 4, 2026.

The communication, issued from Kartavya Bhawan, New Delhi, by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet [File No. 18/17/2021-EO(SM.II)], states that the ACC has “approved the proposal of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for re-appointment of Justice (Retd.) Ashok Bhushan, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, as Chairperson, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).”
The order, signed by Kundan Nath, Under Secretary (EO-SM.II), was addressed to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for execution. Copies were also forwarded for information to the Prime Minister’s Office (Attn: Ms. Manmeet Kaur, Director) and the Cabinet Secretariat.
