Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his publicity and personality rights, urging the court to restrain websites and online platforms from using his image, likeness, and persona without consent. The plea also seeks action against the circulation of fake and sexually explicit content created using artificial intelligence.
The matter came up before Justice Tejas Karia on Wednesday, who directed Bachchan’s counsel to respond to queries raised by the court and fixed the hearing for 2:30 pm later in the day.
Advocate Pravin Anand, appearing on behalf of Bachchan, argued that certain defendants were engaged in creating AI-generated videos and digitally manipulated photographs of the actor. He submitted that these included images falsely portraying Bachchan’s signatures as well as sexually explicit material designed to mislead the public and harm his reputation.

Bachchan was also represented by a legal team comprising advocates Ameet Naik, Madhu Gadodia, and Dhruv Anand.
