Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, March 11, 2025: Today, another significant and transformative step was taken towards realizing the concept of a Paperless Court, transparent and speedy justice in the State of Chhattisgarh with the inauguration of the “Digitization and Scanning Centre” at District and Session Court, Raipur. The second “Digitization Centre” in the District Courts of the State after District Bilaspur was virtually inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh by cutting the ribbon, symbolizing the commitment to advancing the digitization of documents and modernizing Court operations.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, the Chief Justice, in his address expressed:
“Today we are assembled on the occasion of the virtual inauguration of Digitization and Scanning Centre at District and Session Court, Raipur, which becomes the second Court in the State Judiciary, where the Digitization Centre has been introduced. Just a few days ago, we inaugurated the first Digitization Centre in the State Judiciary at District Court Bilaspur. The establishment of the Digitization Centre is the effort of the High Court in coordination with the vision given by the Supreme Court.”

Reiterating the vision of the Supreme Court to make Courts paperless, the Hon’ble Chief Justice remarked:
“The Supreme Court is regularly monitoring the work of the digitization of the records to reduce the voluminous records and make Courts paperless in order to ensure more transparency in the functioning of the courts.”
While acknowledging that technology has its advantages and challenges, the Hon’ble Chief Justice emphasized the need to leverage technology for the betterment of the Judiciary, enhancing transparency and the delivery of prompt justice.
The Chief Justice stated:
“We must take advantage of technology for an effective and transparent Judiciary.”
On this significant occasion, the Hon’ble Chief Justice extended heartfelt congratulations to everyone and urged the District Court to fully embrace the opportunities presented by the Digitization Centre. His Lordship stated:
“District Court to make full use of the Digitization Centre, creating a better place to work and taking advantage of the Centre, so that litigants, lawyers, and all those connected with the institution may benefit from it.”
Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, has always been in favor of using modern technology in the activities of the Judiciary. All the District Courts of the State and the National Lok Adalats have been inspected by the Hon’ble Chief Justice from time to time using modern technology and digital resources.
The Hon’ble Chief Justice has been virtually inaugurating the Judicial infrastructure projects, Court Buildings, and Residential Quarters of Officers and Employees. Due to the initiative and efforts of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, today the Chhattisgarh Judiciary is among the leading States in providing speedy, accessible, and affordable justice to the people using technical and digital resources.

- Hon’ble Shri Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, and Member of the High Court Computerization Committee
- Hon’ble Shri Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, and Member of the High Court Computerization Committee

The inauguration ceremony began with the welcome address of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Raipur, and was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the First District and Sessions Judge, Raipur.
On this occasion, Registrar General of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Officers of the Registry, Judicial Officers of the District Court, Staff, and personnel from electronic and print media were present.
