Writ Jurisdiction of High Court Cannot Be Excluded Due To Existence Of Alternate Remedy: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has reiterated that the existence of an alternate remedy by itself can’t exclude the High Court’s writ jurisdiction. The Bench of Justices KM Joseph and Hrishikesh Roy made the observation while considering an appeal filed by the Maharashtra State Waqf Board against a 2011 Bombay High Court decision to quash the Constitution
