The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notices to the Union government, the National Medical Commission, and other relevant bodies regarding a petition demanding the disclosure of answer keys and individual responses for NEET-PG 2026.
A bench of Justices P S Narasimha and Alok Aradhe tagged the matter with similar petitions already pending before the court.
Demands For Evaluation Transparency
The legal challenge, brought by the Democratic Medical Association and other petitioners, requests that medical candidates receive access to the exact questions and answer options presented to them during the examination.
The petition also asks for candidates to be provided with their specific recorded answers alongside the official correct answer keys. According to the petitioners, the existing mechanism prevents examinees from independently verifying the accuracy of their evaluation results.
Examination Background
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2026 was administered nationwide on August 30.
A subsequent supplementary examination took place on September 5 to accommodate candidates impacted by a technical failure at an examination venue located in Jaipur.
