The Supreme Court has granted a last and final opportunity to the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida Authority) to comply with its earlier directions aimed at reviving stalled real estate projects linked to the Noida Sports City development in Sector 150.
A bench of Justices M M Sundresh and N Kotiswar Singh passed the order while reviewing compliance with its earlier directions. The court directed the authority to strictly follow the orders issued on November 24, 2025 and January 15, 2026.
“In the meantime, as a last and final opportunity, the earlier orders passed by this court dated November 24, 2025 and January 15, 2026 must be complied with by the respondent Noida,” the bench said.
In its order dated November 24, 2025, the Supreme Court had approved a structured framework to revive the project being developed by Lotus Green Constructions along with its consortium partners.
The court permitted construction activity to resume after nearly three years of stoppage. It also directed the Noida Authority to lift the ban imposed on the developer within 30 to 45 days, subject to compliance with certain conditions laid down by the court.
As part of the revival framework, the developer was required to submit a revised master plan within 30 days. The plan would be examined by the authority to ensure that the development remained consistent with the original Sports City policy.
Following the Supreme Court’s latest directions, the Noida Authority has lifted the ban on the SC-02 Sports City project in Sector 150.
The decision was taken during the authority’s 221st board meeting chaired by Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner and Noida Authority chairman Deepak Kumar.
The ban had originally been imposed during the authority’s 201st board meeting in January 2021.
According to an official statement, the board also reviewed the conditional occupancy certificate issued for Sports City SC-02. It directed officials to ensure that all further actions are taken strictly in accordance with the Supreme Court’s orders.
The Sports City project in Sector 150 was conceived as a major mixed-use development combining sports infrastructure with residential and commercial facilities. The project was designed to include sports academies, training centres and related amenities along with housing and retail spaces.
Thousands of homebuyers had invested in the project. However, work came to a halt after regulatory action in January 2021 imposed a ban on all four sports city projects in Noida.
As a result, around 20,000 buyers have been awaiting possession or registration of their properties since the construction activities were stopped.
