UPSLSA Pioneers National Milestone: Justice Vikram Nath Flags Off ‘Nyaya Rath’ for 74 Districts; State Mediation Helpline Launched

The U.P. State Legal Services Authority has organized a programme on 14.02.2026 at 03:15 PM at the Chief Justice Portico, High Court, Lucknow Bench, for the Flag-Off Ceremony of Multi-Utility Vehicles of 74 District Legal Services Authorities of Uttar Pradesh along with the launch of the State Mediation Helpline.

The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi. The event was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pankaj Mithal, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arun Bhansali, Chief Justice, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and Patron-in-Chief, U.P. State Legal Services Authority; Hon’ble Mr. Justice D.K. Upadhyaya, Chief Justice, High Court of  Delhi; Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Chief Justice, High Court of Bombay; Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi, Senior Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and Executive Chairman, U.P. State Legal Services Authority and other Hon’ble Judges of the Allahabad High Court. Officers of the State Legal Services Authority were also present on the aforesaid occasion.

Under the patronage and able guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority, the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority has taken a pioneering step by becoming the first in the nation to procure Multi Utility Vehicles for all the 74 Districts of Uttar Pradesh. Today, the nation follows this momentum — a testament to vision translated into action.

The flag-off of Naya Rath for all the 74 District of Uttar Pradesh from the portico of the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench sends a powerful and reassuring message — that U.P. State Legal Services Authority, as an institution, remain firmly committed to delivering justice to the person standing on the very last pedestal of society.

Today marks not merely the flag-off of these vehicles, but the movement of justice itself — advancing with resolve to fulfill our shared motto: Nyaya at the doorstep of every citizen. The Nyaya Rath vehicles will serve as Mobile Legal Aid Clinics and Mobile Mediation Centres, ensuring that access to justice travels to those who need it the most.

The Mediation Helpline – 1800-180-1212 of UPSLSA was also launched on this occasion. Every person may obtain free advice and necessary information regarding resolution of their disputes through the process of mediation with the help of this Helpline. This initiative is an important step towards strengthening the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism and ensuring easy, speedy, and accessible justice to all.

The entire programme reflects the commitment of the U.P. State Legal Services Authority towards fulfilling the constitutional mandate of ensuring equal and effective access to justice.
