35 Years at the Bar Is a Testament to Integrity and Constitutional Commitment: Chhattisgarh Chief Justice at Raipur Felicitation Ceremony

Raipur, December 19, 2025: A felicitation ceremony honouring Advocates who have completed thirty-five years of distinguished service at the Bar was held on 19 December 2025 at the District Bar Association, Raipur. The programme was graced by the august presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, who addressed the gathering on the enduring values of the legal profession and the constitutional role of the Bar.

On the occasion, 32 senior Advocates were felicitated in recognition of their long-standing contribution and distinguished service to the legal profession. The programme also featured various competitions including Carrom, Chess, Singing, Rangoli, Salad Making, and Mehendi, in which the participants showcased their talents, and the winners were duly awarded.

Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble the Chief Justice observed that thirty-five years at the Bar is not merely a measure of time, but a testament to intellectual discipline, ethical integrity, professional courage, and unwavering commitment to the rule of law. His Lordship emphasized that law derives its authority and moral strength from the Constitution of India, which serves as a solemn social compact and a safeguard against arbitrariness.

His Lordship highlighted the vital and irreplaceable role of Advocates in keeping the Constitution a living document, not only through interpretation, but through its faithful understanding, upholding, and transmission in spirit. Describing Advocates as Officers of the Court and guardians of constitutional freedoms, the Hon’ble Chief Justice underscored that the independence of the Bar is inseparable from the independence of the Judiciary .

Emphasizing the collaborative relationship between the Bench and the Bar, His Lordship stated that the quality of Justice delivered fundamentally depends upon the clarity, scholarship, and integrity of advocacy placed before the Court. The senior members of the Bar were lauded not only for their professional excellence, but also for preserving institutional traditions, upholding professional ethics, and guiding younger members of the profession.

Addressing young Advocates, Hon’ble the Chief Justice conveyed that the greatness of law lies not in its coercive power, but in its moral authority, credibility, and service to society, which are built through consistency, integrity, and steadfast adherence to constitutional values.

The programme was also graced by the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arvind Kumar Verma, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Bibhu Datta Guru, Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, who added dignity and distinction to the occasion.

Also were present the Registrar General, the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Raipur, and other Judicial Officers of the District . Senior officials including the Principal Secretary, Law and Legislative Affairs Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, were also present. The President, Secretary, and Members of the District Bar Association, Raipur, along with Senior Advocates, Members of the Bar, and other distinguished guests, participated in the programme.
