Bilaspur, December 13th, 2025:In a pioneering effort to champion accessible and swift justice, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGLSA), conducted a comprehensive virtual inspection and assessment of the year’s fourth and final National Lok Adalat proceedings across all 23 districts of the state.
Connecting virtually from the High Court, Hon’ble the Chief Justice meticulously monitored the proceedings and held interactions with all the Principal District and Sessions Judges. He underscored that the National Lok Adalat serves as a crucial platform for litigants to resolve disputes amicably and swiftly, urging all Judicial Officers to strive for the maximum possible resolution of pending cases.
Hon’ble the Chief Justice personally visited and interacted with the two Benches constituted for the National Lok Adalat at the High Court of Chhattisgarh presided over by Hon’ble Shri Justice Arvind Kumar Verma and Hon’ble Shri Justice Bibhu Datta Guru and appreciated their efforts in facilitating the effective conduct of the Lok Adalat and promoting the spirit of amicable dispute resolution.
Under the exemplary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, meticulous planning, including extensive pre-sittings and counselling sessions, was executed statewide to facilitate amicable settlements.
The concerted efforts culminated in a remarkable achievement. According to the data received for the National Lok Adalat organized on December 13, 2025, encompassing the High Court, District and Sessions Court, Taluka level Courts and Revenue Courts across Chhattisgarh, a total of 55,27,165 cases (including criminal compundable cases, civil cases, revenue cases, pre-litigation cases and traffic challan cases) were resolved and an award amount of Rs. 6,49,35,93,768/- was passed.
Since assuming office, Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh has consistently prioritized the delivery of quick, accessible and affordable justice to the people of Chhattisgarh through the Lok Adalat system, with continuous guidance and regular review meetings with Principal District Judges.
