The High Court of Delhi has issued a formal notification declaring Tuesday, November 25, 2025, as a holiday for the High Court and its Subordinate Courts. The holiday has been announced to observe the momentous 350th anniversary of ‘Guru Teg Bahadur’s Martyrdom Day’.
In a notification issued on Monday (No. 35/G-4/Genl.-I/DHC), the Court administration, under the General Administration-I Branch, outlined the schedule for the holiday and the subsequent compensatory working days to make up for the loss of judicial time.

Compensatory Court Sittings
To compensate for the holiday declared on November 25, the notification specifies different sitting days for the High Court and the Subordinate Courts:
- For the High Court of Delhi: Saturday, December 6, 2025, has been declared as a Court sitting day.
- For Subordinate Courts: The Second Saturday, December 13, 2025, has been declared as a Court sitting day in lieu of the holiday.
Rescheduling of Cases
The notification provides clarity regarding the status of legal matters scheduled for the holiday to avoid inconvenience to litigants and advocates:
“The cases fixed for Tuesday, the 25th November 2025 in this Court and the Courts Subordinate to this Court shall be taken up on Wednesday, the 26th November 2025, in addition to the cases already fixed for the said date.”
The notification was issued on November 24, 2025, “By Order of the Court.”
