Behind Every Case is a Human Story of Hope and Faith in Judiciary: CG HC Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha at Bastar Judicial Seminar

A one-day Divisional Judicial Seminar for Judicial Officers of Bastar Division was organized by the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy at the Prerna Hall Collectorate Building, Jagdalpur. The seminar was attended by 43 Judicial Officers from four Civil Districts of the Bastar Division (Jagdalpur, Kanker, Dantewara, Kondagaon). The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh & Patron in chief Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy, Virtually inaugurated the session. This ceremonial moment symbolized the illumination of justice and legal wisdom. The seminar was also graced by the Virtual presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Amitendra Kishore Prasad, Judge High Court of Chhattisgarh, Portfolio Judge, District Kanker.

Hon’ble The Chief Justice, delivered insightful address for Judicial Officers of the Bastar Division, emphasized that today’s time, the expectations from the Judiciary are very high. The event was Virtually attended by the Incharge Registrar General of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Registry Officers. Welcome address was delivered by Principal District & Sessions Judge Jagdalpur and Introductory address was given by Director of Chhattisgarh Judicial Academy & concluded with a vote of thanks by Additional District & Sessions Judge Jagdalpur.

A total of 43 Judicial Officers from Bastar Division-District Kanker, Kondagaon, Jagdalpur & Dantewara- Participated. The participants gave presentations on the following subjects-

  1. An overview of the procedure for Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act (NIA) cases. Innovative tools and techniques for disposal of Section 138 NIA cases.
  2. Role of Referral Judge in Mediation. Strategies for a more effective Referral Judge in Mediation.
  3. Execution of decree by arrest and detention in the civil prison and attachment of property. Strategies for timely and efficient enforcement.
  4. Behind the Bars or free: An in depth analysis of provisions of Remand and Bail with special reference to the latest Hon’ble Apex Court’s pronouncements.
