Virtual Inauguration of Legal Services Clinics under NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayta Yojna 2025 in Jharkhand

Ranchi, 13 September 2025: The Virtual Inauguration of Legal Services Clinics under the NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojna 2025 was held today across all districts of Jharkhand, dedicated to Defence Personnel, Ex-Servicemen, and their dependent family members. The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Chief Justice, High Court of Jharkhand cum Patron-in-Chief, JHALSA, at Kerketta Auditorium, Army Cantonment, Dipatoli, Ranchi, in the benign presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, Judge, High Court of Jharkhand & Executive Chairman, JHALSA, along with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Prasad, Judges, High Court of Jharkhandand Major General Sajjan Singh Maan, GOC, 23 Infantry Division, Brigadier Raj Kumar, Sena Medal, Deputy GOC, 23 Infantry Division.

The august occasion was also graced by senior Army officers, judicial officers,DIG cum Senior Superintendent of Police, Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi, Chairpersons, and Secretaries of DLSAs, who joined virtually from all districts of Jharkhand.On this occasion, a 90-Day Campaign under Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojna was also launched by the Chief Justice and other dignitaries with the objective of creating wide awareness and identifying maximum beneficiaries so that immediate relief may be provided to them.

Delivering the Welcome AddressMs. Kumari Ranjana Asthana, Member Secretary, JHALSA, highlighted the achievements of JHALSA under the leadership of its Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairman, noting that JHALSA has been making tremendous strides in expanding its outreach to the remotest corners of Jharkhand. She also said that the purpose of launching the campaign of veer Parivar Sahayata Yojna is to provide all possible legal assistance to defence personnels, Ex Servicemen and their dependent family members.

Major General Sajjan Singh Maan, GOC, 23 Infantry Division, in his Special Address, congratulated NALSA and JHALSA for conceptualizing and implementing the Veer Parivar Sahayta Yojna, terming it a landmark initiative for the welfare of defence personnel and their families.

In his remarks, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, Executive Chairman, JHALSA, said that the scheme was launched on the advice of the Hon’ble Chief Justice with the purpose of ensuring that immediate relief reaches beneficiaries in need of legal assistance. He emphasized that the object of the scheme is not only to provide legal aid to serving Army personnel and their dependents but also to make them aware of their legal and constitutional rights under Article 39A of the Constitution of India.

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Chief Justice stated that “Legal Services Clinics for bravehearts, veterans, and their families are not mere ceremonial events but a solemn pledge. This is the judiciary’s humble tribute to those who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding the nation. The Judiciary of Jharkhand stands firmly with our soldiers.”

Alongside this event, the National Lok Adalat was successfully organized today across the state. Around 288 Benches were constituted in National Lok Adalat, wherein 1901846 Pre-litigation and 160032 pending cases were disposed of, resulting in settlement amounts worth Rs 9,24,93,44,880.
