Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority inaugurated a comprehensive 40-hours Mediation Training Programme today, aimed at strengthening the framework of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the State. The inaugural session, held at the Conference Hall of the Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, marked a significant step toward Enhancing the Mediation Capabilities of Judicial Officers and Advocates.
The inaugural session was chaired by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority. Hon’ble The Chief Justice was accompanied by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh & Executive Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Parth Prateem Sahu, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh & Chairman, Committee to Monitor Mediation Centres for High Court and District Courts.
In the inaugural address, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh emphasized the growing importance of mediation as an effective and holistic alternative dispute resolution mechanism. He highlighted how mediation provides an amicable and comprehensive approach to resolving conflicts, offering significant benefits to both the judiciary and litigants.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh underscored the crucial role of professional ethics in mediation, noting that mediators must uphold the highest standards of integrity to ensure trust in the process. He elaborated on the training programme’s design, which integrates in-depth theoretical learning with practical components such as real-world case studies and interactive role-playing exercises, offering participants both academic and hands-on exposure.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh also shared encouraging developments under the ongoing Mediation “For The Nation” campaign. He revealed that 709 cases have already been successfully resolved through this initiative within the State of Chhattisgarh, reflecting the growing acceptance and effectiveness of mediation as a tool for justice.

The training program scheduled between 18th August to 22nd August, 2025 is expected to significantly Enhance the Mediation Skills of Judicial officers and Advocates, further strengthening the legal framework for dispute resolution in Chhattisgarh.
